A PAIR OF LARGE JAPANESE IMARI JARDINIERES
MEIJI PERIOD, LATE 19TH CENTURY
Painted in underglaze-blue, iron-red and gilt with panels of flowers and birds amongst flowering branches beneath a deep blue border enriched with iron-red lozenge flower panels; together with a pair of Japanese Imari fluted Jardinieres, Meiji Period, late 19th Century 10½ in. (27 cm.) high

Provenance
Acquired by Sir John Gladstone, 3rd Baronet, (1852-1926) on a visit to Japan, circa 1890.
