The arms are those of Wilhelm Maximillian, Duke of Brunswick, (1830-1884).
Proprietor of the Duchy of Oels in Silesia by a convention with his brother 13 January 1824, assumed the govt of the Duchy of brunswick provisionally following his brother's flight 7 September 1830 and definitively at the request of the German Diet 25 April 1831, KG 1831, Hanoverian Field Marshal and Prussian Cavalry Gen, b. brunswick 25 April 1806; dunm at Schloss Sibyllenort, nr Breslau 18 October 1884 (bur Brunswick Cathedral), when the senior line of the House of Guelf became extinct.
