A ROMAN AND A BYZANTINE GLASS JUG
CIRCA 3RD-6TH CENTURY A.D.
One pale blue-green in color, circa 3rd-4th century A.D., free-blown, the spherical body with a tapering cylindrical neck and trefoil mouth, an applied thin trail would spirally around the neck and body, the handle pulled up from the shoulder to the rim, with the excess glass folded up and pinched; and one olive green in color, circa 6th-7th century A.D., free-blown, the piriform body with a tapering cylindrical neck, the cylindrical mouth with applied thread wound spirally, the flaring foot folded, the thick handle pulled up from base of the neck and joined to the rim
