A ROMAN IRON, BRONZE AND GLASS DAGGER
CIRCA LATE 2ND-EARLY 3RD CENTURY A.D.
The rectangular blade bulging slightly at the mid-rib and tapering to a sharp tip, inserted into the separately-cast rectangular bronze hilt, flaring to the knobbed end, composed of two parts secured together by two pins where it joins the blade, each side of the hilt with eight rectangular panels inlaid with red, yellow, blue, green and white millefiori glass squares
