Lot Essay

The Finlandia series was created using charred wooden molds that sought to underline the essential and tactile spirit of the natural world. Both the technique and aesthetic proved highly influential, determining a powerful nationalistic identity that endured across various mediums of progressive Finnish design into the 1970s.
