Paris: Didot jeune, 1793-98. 5 volumes, 8° (239 x 148mm). 4 only (of 5) engraved frontispieces and 108 plates by Baquoy, Halbou, Tilliard and others after Moreau le jeune, volume V printed on thick paper (many plates very lightly foxed). Contemporary French red straight-grained morocco, volumes I-IV by Mouillié with his ticket, volume V not uniform with the remainder, sides ornately gilt to a geometrical pattern, flat spines gilt, inner dentelles, gilt edges.
This copy differs from the one described by Cohen-de Ricci in the following ways. Volume III has only 24 (of 25) plates and volume V has no frontispiece but contains 28 plates rather than 27. Cohen-de Ricci 756 'Le 5e volume, qui a paru tout seul en 1798 est moins commun que les autres'. (5)
