MARK OF BERNHARDUS HAYENS, EMDEN, CIRCA 1750
In the Dutch taste, pear-shaped, the lower body and shoulder chased with shells suspending tassels and cartouches chased with latticework, with a leaf-capped spout and a leather-covered handle, the hinged cover similarly decorated and with a branch finial, engraved underneath with initials, marked underneath with maker's mark only twice, the rim further marked with a later French import mark
