APPARENTLY UNMARKED, PRESUMABLY EXETER, CIRCA 1630
The coconut engraved with three panels depicting figures in domestic interiors and with a further panel carved with a coat-of-arms, each separated by a strap, on a trumpet foot, the rim, foot and straps each engraved with lines
6 in. (15 cm.) high
The arms are those of Short impaling Maynard for Dr. Anthony Short (b.1585), the second son of John Short of Exeter, Rector of Ashreigney, Devon, and his wife Jane Maynard of Exeter who he married in 1626.
