Provenance: Archibald Leckie (presentation inscription from the author).
FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED by the author on the half-title: "To my dear Friend Archibald Leckie, Norman Lockyer Feb 5. 1874." Lockyer was founding editor of the influential journal Nature and co-discoverer of the Gas Helium, the presence of which he noted during a solar eclipse of 1888.
