Each with a rectangular padded seat covered in close-nailed ivory crewelwork, on simulated line-inlaid inverted baluster legs joined by X-shaped stretchers and terminating in faceted bun feet

Lot Essay

This model of stool is copied from at least two pairs that were supplied to the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, by Maison Jansen in 1938. Two pairs of this model were sold from that collection, Sotheby's New York, 19-27 February 1998, lot 1750 & 1751 ($71,250 & $87,750 respectively).
