Lot Essay

Lautrec was an enthusiastic follower of cycling, and created this poster to advertise a new bicycle chain for the Simpson Cycle and Bicycle Chain Company. The poster was not used however, as Lautrec drew the chain incorrectly. Despite this, he still printed an edition aimed at racing fans.
