The three holy women, Mary Mother of God, Mary Magdalene and Mary of Cleopas, advancing from the left, holding unguents with myrrh, encountering a sarcophagus containing only the shroud of Christ, the seated angel animatedly pointing to the empty tomb, rocky hills behind, the image's horizon limited by the high walls of Jerusalem; the elegant figures of the Myrophorae rendered with saturated tones, reflecting the colours of the sarcophagus, the angel's wings and walls, the rest subtly painted in pastel
