HONGXIAN FOUR-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN DOUBLE-SQUARES AND OF THE PERIOD (1915-1916)

Of archaic gu shape with a narrow neck flaring up to a wide trumpet mouth, supported on a bell-shaped foot, finely enamelled to the central knob with floral scrolls bearing gourds and curly leaves against ruby ground, the neck and spreading foot with a pair of quail beside an ornamental rock and chrysanthemum blooms
