The beast well carved in the round with its head turned back to face backwards looking over its prominent arched spine holding a large leafy flowering peony sprig in its mouth, its head carved with deep set eyes beneath a large brow, its fine hair and twin horns swept back over its neck, the stone of a well-polished creamy white tone flecked with small inclusions
