A CARVED JADEITE PANEL
LATE QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY

Of rectangular form, carved on one side to depict a hunting scene with two riders on galloping horses, one figure with bow in hand and turned towards an injured deer in the distance, the other figure with his gun pointed towards birds in flight, in a landscape surrounded by pine trees, the reverse with a long inscription bearing an apocryphal Qianlong dingyou cyclical date, corresponding to 1777 A.D., the translucent material suffused with apple-green striations
7 7/8 x 5 9/16 in. (20 x 14.1 cm.)
