Lot Essay

In the 1970s the Morris Singer Foundry commissioned a series of works from several key 20th Century British artists. For Frink this was an unexpected and much welcomed acknowledgement of her position in the art world. Twelve casts of each work were made and cast in 18 carat yellow gold. Each piece chosen was iconic of the artist; alongside Rolling Over Horse by Dame Elisabeth Frink, there was Mincarlo by Dame Barbara Hepworth and Nureyev by Enzo Plazzotta.
