Cyrillic mark of Pavel Ovchinnikov with the Imperial warrant, Moscow, circa 1890
Realistically painted on metal, Christ Pantocrator in the centre, in seed-pearl vestments, holding a champlevé enamel Book of Gospels, the oklad with cloisonné enamel, the centre with turquoise ground with rope-work scrolls, the borders and halo with multi-coloured geometric decoration with a cross at each corner, marked on the lower base
in fitted case
3 7/8 in. (10 cm.) high The inscription on the silver plaque on the back reads: 'God bless you! June 1902 from Serge'
