Lot Essay

The original panelling and old glass armorial roundels in the windows from the Inlaid Chamber at Sizergh Castle, were sold to the V&A Museum, London in 1891. The bed, which dates to 1568 was also purchased by the Museum in 1896, but is now on loan back to the Castle and looked after by the National Trust.
