A matched pair of French eight day calendrical timepieces in black marble and pale onyx
Retailed by Mason, Canterbury. Circa 1880
Each with gilt-brass handle and raised on turned gilt-brass feet, the first set in white onyx with silvered engine turned mask and signed on the main dials MASON CANTERBURY with inscription to the rear door dated 1878, the second unsigned, in black marble with gilt-brass engine turned mask, both with three white enamel dials for time, barometer and day, date and month calendar, the single barrel movements with platform lever escapements (later replacement on white onyx timepiece)
