Lot Essay

Gossin Frères was almost certainly the combination of the brothers Etienne Gossin (d. 1900) and Louis Gossin -- who first exhibited at the Salon of 1877 and won several French medals in 1882 and 1886. Thereafter he won several addition medals of distinction in 1889 and 1890 in the United States.
