Glig Gamena Angel Deod, or, The Sports and Pastimes of the People of England. London: by T. Bensley for J. White, 1801. 4°, wood-engraved frontispiece and 39 numbered wood-engraved plates printed in sepia, duplicates of plate no. 30, 34, 36, 38 & 39 and one unrecorded engraved plate numbered 17 (occasional light soiling, E2 with closed tear in lower margin), contemporary brown morocco, gilt edges (spine and part of sides sunfaded, heavily rubbed and scuffed). Provenance: contemporary ms corrections, possibly in Strutt's hand -- Thomas French (signature on front blank). FIRST EDITION. A 19th-century ms pencil note observes that "This was Strutt's own copy & contains ms notes etc. by him ...." Padwick 836 (cricket pp. 83-84).

With the second edition of the same work, London, 1810, 4°, partly hand-coloured plates, contemporary calf, gilt edges (rebacked). Provenance: Sir Willoughby Jones, Cranmer Hall (elaborately drawn and illuminated bookplate) -- Edward Vernon Utterson (label). (2)
