This is undoubtedly due to the wealth of publications relating to its design by the Yorkshire architect James Paine (d. 1789) and furnishings by cabinet-maker Thomas Chippendale (d. 1779) for Sir Rowland Winn, 4th Baronet (d. 1765), and Robert Adam, who took over the embellishment of the house from around 1756 for Sir Rowland Winn, 5th Baronet (d. 1786).
