THIRD QUARTER 18TH CENTURY
Inlaid overall with ebony lines, the rectangular pediment with raised central platform and surmounted by urn finials, above a moulded cornice and a pair of glazed doors centred by oval medallions and enclosing a dusty pink watered silk-lined interior with three adjustable shelves, above a projecting crossbanded lower section fitted with a secretaire drawer simulating two drawers, enclosing eight small satinwood-lined drawers and four pigeon holes arranged around a central mahogany-lined door veneered in an exotic hardwood and enclosing a further concealed drawer, and a gilt-tooled green leather-lined writing surface, above two short and two long drawers, on shaped bracket feet, two small drawers inscribed in pencil 'L..onte', the handles and urn finials replaced, restorations to feet, three panes cracked
