A NORTH ITALIAN GILTWOOD CONSOLE TABLE AND MIRROR
GENOA, MID-18TH CENTURY
The mirror with a shaped rectangular divided plate, within a stiff-leaf carved eared frame set with further plates, headed by a scrolled pediment, and surmounted by foliate sprays flanked by floral garlands, the apron with foliate boss; the console with rectangular portoro marble top above a husk-carved frieze and a pierced apron carved with foliate scrolls and centred by a shell, the sides conformingly decorated, on double C-scroll legs elaborately-carved with flowerheads and foliage, joined by conforming stretchers centred by a shell, and terminating in foliate-carved feet, minor differences to carving and gilding
The console table: 34¼ in. (87 cm.) high; 52¾ in. (134 cm.) wide; 26¾ in. (68 cm.) deep; the mirror: 93¼ x 53½ in. (237 x 136 cm.)
