TOP SHELF BORDEAUX
Removed from custom built home storage in the New York area by Christie's specialists.
This collection represents years of collecting top Bordeaux. All of the lots offered here were purchased on release and stored in an immaculate home cellar. The provenance is impeccable. While packing the cellar, the consignor was kind enough to open a half bottle of 1982 Château Margaux for provenance sampling--what a treat. The wine was certainly in its prime. As it should be--it hadn't moved in close to 30 years!
This collector realized his collection was getting just a bit too big for him to drink, hence the pruning. His generosity is your gain!
CA
Château Latour--Vintage 1982
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
Levels: bottom neck or better
In original wooden case
"Most recently, also alongside all the first growths, I noted it as having wonderful depth and resonance; a classic, cedary Pauillac nose: some ripe sweetness, full flavoured, leathery, tannic texture, good length and dry finish. Last noted at the Penning- Rowsells', June 2000 ****(*) Not a long-lasting'28 but a long haul, well balanced wine, say 2010-2030." MB, Vintage Wine
