A RARE BRONZE RITUAL TRIPOD FOOD VESSEL, DING
EARLY SHANG DYNASTY, ERLIGANG PHASE, 15TH CENTURY BC
Raised on three tall conical supports tapering to small elliptical flat bases and with ridged outer and inner edges, the deep, rounded body cast with a band of three thin bow-string bands, with a pair of loop handles rising from the inwardly-canted everted rim, with silvery-grey patina and extensive pale blue-green encrustation
