AN EARLY VICTORIAN ROSEWOOD AND PADOUK WRITING-TABLE
HOLLAND & SONS, MID 19TH CENTURY
The rounded rectangular top with gilt-tooled brown leather writing surface, above two cedar and mahogany-lined frieze drawers with convex quarter-fillets, on twin-end supports with fluted baluster supports joined by a fluted turned stretcher, on downswept legs with Greek-key decoration, with sunk brass castors, the handles apparently original, one drawer stamped 'HOLLAND & SONS', the locks stamped 'COMYN CHINC & CO'
