Lot Essay

Jouve and Demornex, 'Balenciaga,' for very similar models. Golbin and Baron, 'Balenciaga Paris,' pp. 102, for similar.

Balenciaga revisited the curved back several times from the 1940s through the 1960s. This example exhibits the cropped jacket of the early 1960s.
