Raffi Cavoukian's environmental consciousness required that his Signature Edition guitar be constructed under the guidelines of the Sustainable Wood Project. To qualify, more than 70 of the wood utilized must be harvested from forests independently certified by the Rainforest Alliance's "SmartWood" program and/or Scientific Certification Systems. Each operates in accordance with the rules set forth by The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). All certified woods originate from reclaimed sources to ensure that they meet internationally recognized environmental, social and economic standards. The HDC3- Raffi was never put into production and only the four prototypes exist.
