Lot Essay

Kenny Wayne Shepherd's Signature Series JC-16KWS was a blending of a number of Martin's previous models and technologies. The goal was to produce a stage-performance instrument worthy of Shepherd's virtuosity. With the single cut-away Jumbo body and Fishman active pickup, it owes a lot to Martin's other stage workhorse the SPOOOC-16E. The deep finish of a contrasting blue and black color speaks to the automotive finishes Martin experimented with on the Concept 1 and 2 guitars. The total production run of these instruments was 198.
