A GREEK TERRACOTTA FEMALE FIGURE
CIRCA 3RD CENTURY B.C.
Holding a casket, wearing chiton and himation which is draped over the back of her head, right hand held aloft, on integral base, rectangular vent hole at back; and a Greek terracotta male figure resting his left elbow on a pillar, wearing a cuirass over short pleated tunic, his left arm held to his breast under his chlamys which is pinned at his right shoulder and held in his right hand, on integral rectangular base, rectangular vent hole at back, circa 4th Century B.C.
7¼ in. (18.5 cm.) and 9½ in. (24 cm.) high respectively (2)

Acquired during the 1890s and passed by inheritance: sold Christie's London, 28 April 1993, lots 78 and 82.
