A French 1½-inch miniature globe
Delamarche, mid-19th century
The cartouche DELAMARCHE 7 Rue de Battoir Paris, the globe comprised of twelve engraved gores, graduated equatorial numbered by 30° divided by 5°, ecliptic, tropics and polar circles shown and labelled, meridian through Paris, Australia labelled Australie ou Nlle Hollande, Tasmania as an island labelled I: de Diemen, New Zealand shown along with T[erre] d'Enderby, North coast of Canada shown (slight discoloration and light rubbing or flaking of varnish), with modern brass meridian ring supported by brass base, housed in a modern cardboard case.
3¾in. (9.5cm.) high on stand
