An Arita Dutch decorated apothecary bottle,
18th Century
Painted in coloured enamels with a portrait of Willem IV in profile below a coronet, the banderole underneath inscribed: "W.C.H.F. Pr. van Or. en Na. Erfstadhouder ErfKapiteijn, Admiraal en Generaal over de 7 Prov.", surrounded by feathery mantling enriched with branches of orange, repeated as a band below the ribbed cylindrical neck, the reverse with an orange tree and the inscription "nu is de Spruijt een Boom geworden" (rim restoration)
