A SILVER-GILT OPENWORK SUGAR BASKET
UNMARKED, PROBABLY CIRCA 1775
The wirework sides applied with trailing flowers and ribbon-tied foliage, narrow rope-work rims and swing handle, the latter applied with flowers on top, the foot rim engraved with a baron's coronet between two crests, fitted with a later detachable silver-gilt liner, mark of William Eley, London, 1824, and a detached gilt disc intended to fit inside the foot, with modern presentation inscription
