The steel blade of curved thick form with half-crescent Chand moon to one side, the hilt decorated to pommel with inscription reading 'Call upon 'Ali who causes wonders You will find him helpful in misfortune All anguish, all sorrows will disappear Through your Prophethood, O Muhammad! Through your Friendship (with God) Oh 'Ali Oh 'Ali There is no youth (as brave as) 'Ali No sword (as sharp as) dhu'l-faqar' - 25 1/2in (64.7cm) long
