A PAIR OF MINTONS PEACOCK-BLUE PATE-SUR-PATE VASES AND COVERS
Circa 1900-1910, gilt crowned globe marks, impressed shape no. 2449 and various cyphers, gilder's K and interlaced C monogram, based on designs by L. Solon, both signed A(lboin) Birks
Of shield shape with spiral-fluted neck and socle, the shoulder flanked by pendant gilt wreath and lug handles, each painted and hand-tooled in white slip with a nymph seated on a columnar plinth either playing a tambourine or tending a brazier as putti gather and fly, the reverse respectively decorated with putti being scorched by a torch or in flight about a beehive, on a conforming socle and square base
