Lot Essay

The Makers have kindly confirmed that the weapon was completed in 1891 as a rifle for the .400 (2 7/8in.) black powder cartridge, this was then reproofed to a .450/.400 Nitro Express. Deemed unsafe for use in that state, it has been recently sleeved to a 28-bore by Gibbs and is of a very high quality.
