Lot Essay

Originally established as a crochet and knitwear business in 1966, Mike and Ritva Ross created 'The Ritva Man' label in 1969 with the aim of collaborating with artists, such as David Hockney, Elisabeth Frink, Patrick Hughes, and in the case of this example, Allen Jones, to produce limited edition knitwear. Although intended to be issued in an edition of 200, it is possible that not more than a few dozen of each design were produced.
