Very slightly stained label. Bottle numbered 72096. Level mid-shoulder
Note de dégustation: Le baron Philippe, à l'issu de cette petite récolte, produisit 151744 bouteilles, 2091 magnums et seulement 116 grands formats. J'ai, à l'origine, dit de ce vin qu'il était "tel un Churchill", exprimant l'idée d'un vin plus massif que l'existence, immédiatement identifiable, complexe, auquel on porte une fascination sans limite, inoubliable. Tasting note: In this great but small vintage he produced (Baron Philippe) 151,744 bottles, 2091 magnums and just 116 grand formats. I originally coined the phrase "a Churchill of a wine", meaning larger than life, immediately recognizable, complex, endlessly fascinating, unforgettable. June 2001 ***** M.B.
