A studio pottery jug with brown glaze dipped rim
8¼ in. (21 cm.) high
Together with a salt glaze stoneware jug by Walter Keeler (British, b.1942), decorated in green and yellow with a raised concentric circular motif and handle modelled as a branch -- 4 7/8 in. (12 cm.) high (2)

Lot Essay

The present example of Walter Keeler's work refers to 18th century Staffordshire pottery in its handling of the glazes, which corresponds to the work of Thomas Whieldon (1719-1795).
