Chateau Plaisance--Vintage 2000
Saint-Emilion, grand cru
These lots (412 to 425) represent part of a large parcel of Plaisance 2000 which was purchased en primeur by the current owner, a U.S. resident, and was prepared for shipment to the U.S. All the bottles have non-integrated U.S. slip labels at the rear. In fact the wines were never shipped and have remained under bond in the U.K.
Tasting Note: A sleeper of the vintage, the 2000 Plaisance exhibits a dense ruby/plum colour along with plenty of spice, sweet, delicious black cherry and raspberry fruit intermixed with some underbrush, dried herbs and liquorice. It is medium to full-bodied, soft, plush, and ideal for near-term consumption. Anticipated maturity: now-2012. Robert Parker, Wine Advocate 146, April 2003
