A Satsuma Koro, Signed Hododa, Meiji Period (1868-1912)
moulded in the form of a chrysanthemum flower head and decorated in gilt and various enamels with six panels depicting garden scenes with samurai and officials on a geometric ground, the reverse with kiku and karakusa sprays and butterflies, signed Dai Nippon Satsuma yaki Hododa zo, pierced silver cover with kiku flowerheads -- 4.5.16in. (11cm.) diam.
