one oban yoko-e and eleven oban tate-e prints, variously illustrating famous places in and around Tokyo with crowds of people crossing bridges in carriages and on foot, figures on steam trains and paddle steamers, trading wares before shop fronts, admiring European influenced buildings and wearing Western dress, some scenes comically juxtaposing the old with the new fashions and technology introduced during the Meiji period.
