carved and pierced to the interiors with scenes of ladies playing musical instruments under the shade of an overhanging prunus tree, and with ladies accompanied by a seated gentleman, a child and a dog within a fenced garden; and a carved model of a Luohai, carrying a gnarled walking stick, a bat issuing from the double gourd thrown over his left shoulder -- wristrest 5½in. (14cm.) wide max. all with carved and pierced wood stands. (3)
