TWO GREEN AND AUBERGINE-ENAMELLED YELLOW-GROUND 'DRAGON' DISHES, DAOGUANG SEAL MARKS AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-50)
each of saucer shape, incised with green and aubergine writhing five-clawed dragons chasing a flaming pearl amongst fire scrolls, the larger dish with green cranes in flight alternating with cloud scrolls on the underside, the smaller dish with four clusters of grapes and foliage on the underside, all reserved on ochre-yellow grounds, aubergine seal marks to base -- 5½ in. (14 cm.) diam. maximum. (2)
