The drum-shaped case surmounted by a figure of Erato with a lyre, above a circular platform with ormolu gallery, this supported by four ormolu scrolls cast with acanthus leaves, each headed by a classical female bust and with floral swags between, on a concave-sided plinth centred by a foliate boss, with running guilloche ormolu mounts recessed to the sides and further ormolu bosses to the projecting angles, on flattened toupie feet, the white enamel Arabic dial with dot minute track and painted with floral swags, pierced ormolu hands, and signed 'Thiery a Paris', the eight day movement with twin barrels, anchor escapement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell (lacking); winding key
