MARK OF HERMANN RATZERSDORFER, VIENNA, CIRCA 1870
Formed as a cockerel, on oval base applied with foiled rubies and cabochon emeralds within strap work scrolls, the stem formed as the legs of the cockerel supported on a stump, the lower part of the body cut with scrolls, the upper part of the body detaching to form a cover with applied tail, wings, head and central finial, the joint mounts similar to that of the base, marked under base and inside cover
