Together 4 volumes. 8o (193 x 117mm). Engraved portrait of Gulliver (Teerink 2a), 6 engraved maps and plans, volume one extra-illustrated with 6 folding engraved plates after Jos. Grison. Engraved frontispiece in volume 3. (Some browning and intermittent spotting particularly to volume 4.) Contemporary calf, gilt (expertly rebacked preserving the original spine). Provenance: R. Marsham (signatures dated 1756 on each front free endpaper and title-page).
Teerink's B edition, i.e. the third octavo edition, published December 1726, two months after the first, of Swift's Travels... . FIRST EDITION of the spurious third volume, part 1 of which is an imitation of Swift's original. Part 2 (A Voyage to Sevarambia) "has been stolen from: The History of the Sevarites or Sevarambi, By one Captain Siden (ie. Denis de Veiras, or Denys Vairasse d'Alais), London... 1675-9" (Teerink).
