With slender blade curved towards the point (the point with surface rust), sheathed in convex chased silver panels at the base, silver-gilt hilt chased with panels of flowers, scrolls and trophies-of-arms on a contrasting stippled ground, rising to form a small eared pommel, and in its original scabbard entirely sheathed in silver-gilt, cast and chased with further elaborate panels of trophies and flowers also involving ships in sail, monster's head finial, and struck twice with a Tughra
