The first with slender tapering blade pierced with a series of decorative slots and circular holes within the three narrow fullers at the forte, iron hilt including outer ring-guard filled with a sprung-in plate pierced and chiselled with monsters and a human medallion, fluted pommel, and iron grip; the second with tapering double-edged blade, iron hilt incorporating an outer ring and knuckle-guard each interrupted by bold knopped mouldings, bun-shaped pommel, and moulded grip with later wire binding
